The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has received drugs worth shillings 35 million to help in the fight against diseases in Kampala.
The drugs include; Antimalarials, Anti-fungal, and Anti-microbial among others, donated by the Bliss GVS Pharmaceutical Ltd as its corporate social responsibility initiative.
The Director of Public Health at KCCA, Sarah Zalwango while receiving the drugs commended Bliss GVS Pharmaceutical Ltd for the support, saying it has come at the time when the Authority is striving to overcome problems related to the availability and scarcity of drugs in KCCA health facilities.
Zalwango adds that KCCA is directly managing eight public health centers and of these, two of them are at the level of Health Center IVs while the rest are Healthy Center IIIs but they are receiving overwhelming numbers of patients who need the drugs.
Yelipudi Ramesh, the Country Director Bliss GVS Pharmaceutical Ltd said their donation is aimed at supporting the health and wellbeing of Kampala residents, in its commitment to serve Ugandans for 25 years.
