The Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja has directed all Government Ministries, Agencies and Departments as well as Local Governments to inform the public what the Government has been able to achieve in the current term of office.

She disclosed this during the launch of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Manifesto Week through the Minister for Presidency Milly Babirye Babalanda at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala saying ministries should be able to also come up with strategies on how they will be able to achieve the pledges that have not been implemented.

Nabbanja says the NRM manifesto was developed in accordance with the National Development Plan III (NDP III) under the theme; “securing the future”.

Babalanda for her part noted that the NRM manifesto was identified on five pillars that include; creating jobs and wealth for Ugandans, delivering education, health and water, ensuring justice and equity, protecting life and property and achieving economic and political integration.

The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President, Haji Yunus Kakande explained that all Government ministries should ensure that they account to Ugandans hence revealing that the manifesto implementation is currently at 84 %.

Meanwhile, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Manifesto Implementation and the Economy, Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu explained that out of the 809 pledges made to Ugandans in 2021, 281 pledges have been implemented, 395 pledges are  works in progress and 133 pledges have not been started on hence  assuring Ugandans that before the end of next year, the remaining pledges will be achieved.
