Police Ready to Meet NUP Leaders over Mobilization Tours

KYAGULANYI SENTAMU NUP PRESIDENT

Police say they haven’t received any information concerning the National Unity Platform-NUP’s  attempt to meet them after the suspension of the party’s nationwide mobilization tours.

This comes after Police and the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in Nakasongola district blocked the mobilization tour of the NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine who was supposed to address his supporters at Migyera town market grounds in the same district.

Later, NUP leaders and supporters came out and condemned the Police for blocking the mobilization tours of their Party President.

Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson says they are still waiting for NUP leaders to meet them and revisit the agreed upon guidelines to avoid what happened in Buikwe district where the Traffic and Road Safety Regulations were wantonly violated during their processions.
