The Butambala District Woman Member of Parliament, Aisha Kabanda is demanding a thorough investigation into her brutal manhandling during the coffee bill debate weeks ago in Parliament.
While raising a matter of national importance on the Floor of Parliament on Tuesday afternoon, Kabanda revealed that she was brutally arrested by male security officers who stripped and tore her clothes during the process.
Kabanda who had moved with the evidence of her torn clothes to table it before Parliament, argues that the actions by the security officers who invaded Parliament was unconstitutional and a dehumanizing act especially where male security officers got involved in arresting female MPs.
In response, the Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among advised Kabanda to express her demands through a substantive motion and table it in Parliament for investigations to be conducted.
However, the Speaker insisted not to be in the know of the people who invaded Parliament and manhandled MPs during the heated coffee bill debate.
