The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has eulogized the party’s Chairperson of the Special Elders’ Council, Dr. Frank Wilberforce Bulima Nabwiso who passed on over the weekend.

On Monday afternoon, his body was taken to the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi along Entebbe Road for the members to pay their tribute and the party’s National Executive Committee chaired by the FDC President, Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat passed a motion paying tribute to Nabwiso.

The motion was moved by the party’s Vice Chairperson for Western Region, Robert Centenary and seconded by the party’s Electoral Commission Chairperson Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda.

In his speech, Amuriat described Nabwiso as a caring, and loving leader who represented the people of Kagoma County in Jinja district very well and strongly fought for the preservation of the environment in 2001 as Government wanted to sell the Butamira Forest to the Madvani Group to grow sugarcanes which he lost having put up a strong fight.

The FDC Secretary General, Nathan Nandala Mafabi described the late Nabwiso as a person who disclosed on the Floor of Parliament a plan harboured by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to rule this country for 50 years which has almost come to pass. He also revealed that at the time of his death, he was working on the party’s history that must be concluded and released for public consumption.

On his part, Robert Centenary revealed that during the time of trial in the FDC when Dr. Kizza Besigye and his Katonga faction pinned the FDC leadership of receiving dirty money from State House, Nabwiso was tasked with the responsibility of investigating the allegations, from which he released a report that cleared the air, all taken in the good spirit of the party.

Nabwiso 84, died on December 14th 2024 at the Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital after being bedridden for some time.

A church service was organized at the FDC headquarters to pray for his soul.
