4 Charged over Nyanjura’s Brother’s Murder as Police Hunts for 3 Others

Police have launched a manhunt for three suspects linked to the murder of Tugume, a brother to the Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura.

Police have launched a manhunt for three other suspects linked to the murder of Albert Cook Tugume, a brother to the Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura.

This comes after the State Minister for Youths and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara’s call to the authorities to bring Tugume’s killers to justice.

Tugume, a mobile money dealer was gunned down from Ntinda, a city suburb, on November 21st, 2024 evening by armed robbers after his bag containing an unspecified amount of money was snatched by the suspects.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson says that four suspects were arrested and charged at City Hall Court before City Hall Court Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu and these include; Jimmy Mutagubya, a bodaboda rider and resident of Sempagala zone, Nakawa division, Kampala.

Others are; Bosco Katemba Sssalongo, 47, a builder and resident of Kawanda, Nakyesanje zone, Nabweru Sub County, Wakiso district, Marvin Makanga, unemployed and resident of Kagoma, Maganjo and Hamza Mutebi Ssuuna, a businessman and resident of Mpererwe, Wakiso district, who were remanded to Luzira Prison until January 9th 2025.

Owoyesigyire says that they are hunting for Joseph Bambaiha alias Fire, Martin Lukenge and Hussein Kabuye who are still on the run.
