The Bishop of Kasese Diocese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has cautioned Christians against extravagance during this festive season.

Bishop Kibira says many people resort to poaching or theft, to get money for spending during the festive season and if unlucky, suspects are most times arrested and charged by the authorities.

He says Christmas should not be a time for luxurious expenditures but rather to prepare oneself with God.

He also advised the people to have what they can afford during this festive season rather than resorting to illegal activities.

He said this while leading the Eucharistic celebration for St. Maria Gorret Kinyamaseke Roman Catholic Church in Bukangara Parish where he confirmed 480 Christians and urged the parents to care for their children by guiding and instilling the good norms and values if they are to become responsible citizens.
