His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala on Friday December 27th 2024 hosted his grandchildren at a thanksgiving dinner for his 98th birthday.
At the brief ceremony held at his residence at the Priestly Center Nsambya, Cardinal Wamala was gratified with their turn up and the achievements marked in the year 2024.
Among those present were medical doctors, married men and women, those still in school and for professional academics as well as Deacon Denis Sserwadda from Matale Parish Kamaggwa of the Spiritan Congregation.
The State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, the chairman of the grandchildren of Cardinal Wamala’s family challenged the children to work hard and give Cardinal chance to rest because many have been frequenting his place to connect them for jobs and other kind of assistance which he said is not good. He asked them to instead approach him for assistance through Mrs. Teo Lubega.
The function started with a Eucharistic Mass led by the Director of the Priestly Centre Nsambya, Rev. Fr. Paul Mugerwa who urged the children to stay focused and love one another.
Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala turned 98 years of age on December 15th 2024.
