Police in Luweero district have arrested a housewife for allegedly killing her husband on Boxing Day.
It is reported that the deceased identified as Charles Bunjo, aged 54, a driver and a resident of Kyamufumba village, Kakabala Parish, Butuntumula Sub County in Luweero district has been experiencing domestic violence from his wife; Regina Namande aged 38.
According to the police, this kind of violence commenced after the late Bunjo discovered that Namande had an affair with another man known as Emma Kyalufenge and the deceased had previously reported a domestic case at Kakinzi Police, but he suggested against arresting his wife since she was pregnant.
Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson says that yesterday at around 5:30 pm while Bunjo was at home with his two wives; Norah Nakiguli and Regina Namande, Kyalufenge approached them which forced Bunjo to pick a panga and chased him away.
But on return, Bunjo found Namande singing provocative songs and on confronting, she hit him with a stone in the lower abdomen.
Twiineamazima says Bunjo’s first wife; Nakiguli, advised him to run to the neighbor’s home, one Patrick Serunga where he passed on after narrating the whole story to Serunga.
He says that the suspect was arrested and detained at Luweero Central Police Station and the body of the deceased was picked and conveyed to Kasana Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
