The Uganda Police Force have released photos of their own officer who allegedly shot and killed a truck driver in a scuffle incident along Sezibwa Road near the Nakasero State Lodge in Kampala.

The incident happened last week at the corner next to Kampala Club when an altercation ensued and a Police Officer identified as Police Constable Charles Bahati attached to the Counter Terrorism Unit opened gunfire at the deceased; Julius Ssemwaka, the driver of a truck registration number UAX 480C.

ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson says that they are still hunting for Constable Bahati who is suspected to be hiding within communities.

Meanwhile, Police have disclosed charges against a 35-year-old maid Precious Tumuhirwe who was filmed in a sickening video torturing a 4-year-old child in a bathroom.

Tumuhirwe was arrested in Kabale District in South-western Uganda where she had fled after the torture of the child in the early hours of December 27, 2024, at Kikoko Zone, Namataba Cell, Kirinya Ward, Wakiso District.

Rusoke says that Tumuhirwe is currently detained at Kira Police under charges of attempted murder and aggravated torture pending advises from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP).
