Opposition activist and member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Habibu Buwembo vows to put up a spirited fight against corruption once elected Member of Parliament for Rubaga South Constituency come the 2026 general elections.
Last week Buwembo officially declared his interest in running for the Rubaga South Constituency Parliamentary seat in the 2026 general elections and his supporters pledged to support his campaigns.
Talking to journalists in Kabowa, Rubaga Division, Kampala, Buwembo said that he has been one of the few people fighting corrupt officials which has led him to be jailed for several times.
Buwembo adds that he wants to see taxpayers’ money put to proper use once he gets into Parliament.
He has demonstrated his ability to rally support and inspire action as well as promoting the NUP agenda.
Meanwhile, residents of Kabowa, Najjanankumbi 1 and 2, Mutundwe and Nateete zones in Rubaga South Constituency led by National Unity Platform (NUP) member Ibrahim Musisi, an aspirant for the area Lord Councillorship at City Hall, Kampala have strongly criticized the Government for its inability to implement effective waste management strategies in Kampala.
During an exclusive interview with our reporter in Nalukolongo, Kabaawo Zone, Musisi said that the lack of proper waste disposal has led to the proliferation of diseases and other environmental issues, posing a significant threat to the health and well-being of residents and is the reason he is coming out to fight to save the lives and socio-economic wellbeing of people in Kampala.
Musisi argued that the government’s inaction has resulted in the accumulation of trash in public spaces, contaminating water sources and attracting disease-carrying pests.
However he emphasized that it is the Government’s responsibility to ensure a clean and healthy environment for its citizens.
He has pledged to work closely with the community, local leaders and experts to develop and implement a comprehensive waste management plan for Kampala.
