Government has discharged eight people who were recently isolated after being confirmed with the Ebola Virus disease a few weeks ago.
According to the Health Ministry, of the eight cases of Ebola, seven were undergoing treatment at Mulago National Referral Hospital Isolation Unit and another one at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital Isolation Facility.
Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health says the 265 contacts of the confirmed cases are still placed under quarantine at Mulago, Jinja and Mbale while none of them has exhibited signs and symptoms of the Ebola disease.
The Minister further indicates that 91 contacts have completed their 21 days of follow up and they are to be released to return to their homes.
On Mpox disease, Dr. Aceng confirmed that a total of 2,126 patients of the 2,896 cases, fully recovered after undergoing support treatment at the Entebbe Health Facility.
