Radio Sapientia has officially launched its Akabbinkano ka Katikismu 2025 Catechism Competitions at St. Kizito Bwayiise Parish, with over 100 participants ready to compete.
The event will be aired live from Monday to Friday at 6 pm, starting Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
The official launch and blessing of the competitors took place during the 11 O’clock mass at St. Kizito Parish Bwayise, led by Msgr. John Baptist Ssebayiga, the Parish Priest.
In his homily, Msgr. Ssebayiga reflected on the Gospel of the day, which focused on the Prodigal Son.
He expressed concern over the current generation, noting that many children today resemble the prodigal son, and some fathers are irresponsible, yet both figures in the parable call Catholics to embrace the values of penance and forgiveness virtues that are especially important during Lent.
Earlier, during the 7am Mass, Fr. Dr. Joseph Lubula, Managing Director of Radio Sapientia, congratulated the participants and expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere for supporting the competition within the Archdiocese of Kampala.
Fr. Lubula emphasized that this initiative will contribute significantly to evangelizing the people.
Fr. Lubula also extended congratulations to the Muslim community for successfully concluding their holy month of Ramadan, and wished them a joyous Iddi celebration.
In his prayers, Fr. Lubula remembered those affected by recent floods and other life challenges, offering comfort and strength to those suffering.
