The wait is over! The highly anticipated Akabbinkano ka Katekismu 2025, a catechism quiz competition hosted by Radio Sapientia, is set to begin tomorrow (Wednesday), bringing together young Catholic faithful from different parishes to showcase their knowledge of the faith.
Excitement is already in the air following a grand launch event at St. Kizito Bwayise Parish, where over 100 enthusiastic participants gathered to witness the unveiling of this year’s competition.
The event featured blessings from religious leaders led by the Managing Director of Radio Sapientia Fr Joseph Lubula, motivational speeches, and an atmosphere of anticipation as contestants prepared for the challenge ahead.
With the draws completed, teams of three participants are now set to compete in a two-month-long test of Bible knowledge, Catholic doctrine, Church history, sacraments, and moral teachings.
The competition will air live on Radio Sapientia, giving listeners a chance to follow the journey of these young catechists as they battle for the top spot.
The ultimate winner will walk away with a brand-new motorcycle and a plot of land along Masaka, Hoima, or Jinja Road.
To further support education, the best-performing secondary school student will receive a full scholarship at St. Catherine SS Bujuuko, while the top primary school participant will be awarded a full bursary at Mt. Carmel Day and Boarding Primary School Busega.
With spiritual growth, education, and incredible prizes at stake, this year’s contest promises to be more exciting than ever.
