Bishop Jjumba highlights need for male inclusion in dev’t dialogues

Bishop Serverus (Center) Jjumba, the President of Caritas Uganda(Center)

Bishop Serverus Jjumba, the President of Caritas Uganda and Ordinary of Masaka Diocese, has emphasized the importance of including men in development dialogues.

He points out that sustainable progress cannot be achieved by women alone; active male participation is essential for building a balanced society.

In his address at the 15th National Caritas Week Celebration in Kabale Diocese, Bishop Jjumba acknowledged the significant strides women have made but stressed that engaging men is crucial for fostering harmony within communities.

He encouraged the leadership of Caritas and community leaders to initiate conversations that welcome men’s perspectives, highlighting the need to break traditional power dynamics that inhibit open dialogue.

Bishop Jjumba believes that including men enriches the discussion without diminishing women’s voices.

He noted that by fostering inclusive dialogues, Caritas can create comprehensive solutions that address the needs of the entire community, ensuring that everyone plays a role in shaping a more equitable future.
