The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has publicly expressed his deep gratitude for the heartfelt prayers and goodwill messages received from his subjects during a recent period of health concern.
This appreciation was particularly highlighted on April 13, 2025, when special prayers were organized at Lubaga Cathedral in celebration of his 70th birthday.
In a statement delivered by the Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, the Kabaka acknowledged the collective power of prayer and emphasized the strong spiritual bond shared between himself and his people.
He thanked his subjects for their unwavering love and support during challenging times.
Katikiro Mayiga further praised the Kabaka for his exemplary leadership that has significantly transformed the education, health, and agriculture sectors in Buganda, thereby improving the socio-economic standards of his subjects.
He urged the Baganda people to remain united and vigilant against those who seek to undermine the kingdom.
Member of Parliament Charles Matovu, representing Busiro South, also expressed gratitude to God for granting the Kabaka 70 years of life.
He encouraged his constituents to continue praying for the Kabaka and to support all initiatives championed by the Buganda Kingdom.
Among the attendees at the holy mass at Lubaga Cathedral was John Ssemanda, Director of Brighton Preparatory School Mapeera, who commended the Kabaka’s leadership and the positive changes it has brought to the socio-economic and political landscape of Buganda and Uganda as a whole.
This outpouring of appreciation reflects the strong connection between the Kabaka and his subjects, as well as the collective hope for the continued prosperity of the Buganda Kingdom.
