Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has announced that André Onana will return to the starting lineup for the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon at Old Trafford.

This decision follows Onana being rested during Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle, during which Altay Bayindir filled in.

Despite Onana’s recent mistakes that contributed to Lyon’s goals in the first leg, Amorim retains confidence in his abilities.

As for the upcoming summer transfer window, Amorim indicated that all positions, including goalkeeper, will be evaluated, suggesting that the team may consider signing a new player if needed.

He acknowledged that the team’s overall performance has not met expectations, including his own.

The head coach recognized that the scrutiny on Onana may increase following his rest and the need for improvement across the squad.

Additionally, Joshua Zirkzee will be sidelined for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained against Newcastle, emphasizing the challenges the team faces as they prepare for the crucial match against Lyon.
