Bishop Banja calls for support of needy children this Easter

Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese

Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese has made a heartfelt appeal to Ugandans to extend their support to needy children during the Easter season.

His remarks came today at Sanyu Babies Home, where participants in the public Way of the Cross paused to offer prayers for the children in need.

Bishop Banja emphasized that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves the chance to celebrate Easter with joy and hope.

He stated, “The Easter season symbolizes hope, renewal, and love, and this presents a unique opportunity for the community to come together to positively impact the lives of these vulnerable children.”

He encouraged families and individuals to consider adopting children in need, fostering a supportive environment for those who have been abandoned or neglected.

In his address, Bishop Banja also challenged expectant mothers facing difficulties, urging them not to neglect their children after birth, as he termed such actions sinful.

He underscored the responsibility that comes with motherhood and the importance of nurturing and supporting children.

Meanwhile, Barbara Nankya, the Executive Director of Sanyu Babies Home, highlighted the critical need for support from individuals, families, and organizations.

She called for contributions of food, clothing, and other essential items to help nourish and care for the needy children within their community.

As the Easter celebrations approach, Bishop Banja and Nankya’s appeals resonate as a call for compassion, urging Ugandans to act and bring hope to those most vulnerable among them.
