Ssentongo Kyamundu, the former spokesperson of the Justice Forum (JEEMA) party, is facing potential expulsion after challenging President Asuman Basalirwa regarding the expiration of his leadership term.
Kyamundu has expressed intentions to convene a delegate’s conference aimed at removing Basalirwa, citing his refusal to step down following the end of his term.
JEEMA National Chairman Muhammad Kibirige Mayanja while announcing the roadmap at their offices in Rubaga on Tuesday confirmed that Kyamundu’s case has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee, which will ultimately decide his fate.
Mayanja alleges that Kyamundu has been colluding with secret forces to undermine the party’s integrity.
In response, Kyamundu accuses Mayanja of directing efforts to combat Basalirwa’s “illegal leadership.”
This internal conflict exemplifies the deep divisions within JEEMA, as some members express concerns over Basalirwa’s lengthy presidency and advocate for new leadership.
