The Deputy Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Doreen Nyanjula, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of John Kazoora, the former Kashari County Member of Parliament and a founding member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), who died on Easter Sunday.
During a press conference at All Saints Church in Nakasero, following a requiem service for Kazoora, Nyanjula described the late politician as an indispensable character who championed unity, peace, and prosperity for all Ugandans.
She emphasized Kazoora’s unwavering commitment to advocating for a nation where every citizen has a voice and a place.
Nyanjula reflected on Kazoora’s courageous stance in politics, particularly his outspoken criticism of President Museveni.
She highlighted Kazoora’s commitment to questioning the contradictions in the political landscape, particularly in relation to leadership tenure in Africa.
His willingness to challenge authority made a significant impact on the national discourse regarding governance.
In her tribute, Nyanjula called on current members of Parliament to honor Kazoora’s memory by embodying principles of transparency and accountability.
She underscored the importance of serving the interests of the people rather than clinging to power, positioning this approach as essential for achieving a peaceful Uganda.
Her remarks resonate as a call to action for Ugandan leaders to embrace the values that characterized Kazoora’s legacy, fostering a political landscape rooted in integrity and committed service to the citizens.
