In an effort to boost cashless transactions and enhance digital financial inclusion among Ugandans, Airtel Money has signed a partnership with Stabex International to allow Stabex customers to use the Airtel Merchant Code to purchase fuel.
This partnership was unveiled on Tuesday at Stabex International Headquarters along Hoima Road at Nansana, Wakiso district at a function where some lucky Bodaboda riders won themselves free fuel in the ongoing Airtel campaign dubbed “Vroomula Amajja”.
While addressing journalists at the signing of the partnership, Hope Ekudu, the Airtel Money Operations Manager says the world is slowly embracing a cashless economy, which simplifies transactions when purchasing goods and services.
Ekudu adds that the partnership will allow more Airtel Money users to win prizes as part of the Vroomula Amajja campaign because they will be using the Stabex Merchant code to buy fuel.
She calls upon Ugandans to embrace the cashless economy to avoid problems which arise with the use of hard cash.
Meanwhile, Justus Kiptoo, the General Manager Stabex International has commended Airtel Uganda for always coming up with initiatives and innovations which ease people’s lives through their socio-economic engagements.
