DP Demands Apology from UBOS E.D Mukiza

The opposition Democratic Party (DP) calls for an apology to the public by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Executive Director Dr. Chris Mukiza over mismatched results of the 2024 National Population and Housing Census.

This comes after Dr. Mukiza admitted that there were significant errors in the information on tribes, in the 2024 census results they released last week but with no impact on the final statistical results.

Fred Mwesigwa, the DP Presidential Press Secretary while addressing the weekly party press conference said Dr. Mukiza and his governing body at UBOS must resign for ashaming the country by presenting challenged results at this age of technological advancement moreover as the country is celebrating 62 years of independence.

Mwesigwa adds that the mismatched results can lead to poor planning for the country which could result in devastating losses for the country.

Meanwhile, the DP Party acting Spokesperson Ismail Kiirya has also called upon President Yoweri Museveni to immediately drop the Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Keneirugaba over his consistent mistakes on social media that may cause serious diplomatic problems for the country in terms of its international relations.
