Police have arrested 12 suspects believed to be part of the notorious Japodola crew, a serial house-breaking and robbery gang in Mukono Central Division of Mukono Municipality.
According to the police, the gang has been terrorizing residents of Kyingu cell, Nsuube-Kauga ward in Mukono Central Division.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says the suspects were arrested in a pre-dawn operation conducted on Thursday October 10th 2024.
Among the suspects arrested is; Max Opio who was picked from Namanve Industrial Area, Patrick Ochara a brick maker, Richard Omita, a cobbler and shoe maker and Dickson Kubanga, a casual worker among others.
Onyango says the Japodola Crew has been linked to multiple cases of aggravated robbery, house break-ins, and burglaries in Nabuti Cell, Nassuuti, Dandira, and Wantoni using master keys, wires, knives, pangas, and small axes to carry out their crimes.
