Ugandans are Urged to Embrace Cooperatives for Development

Kampala Development Cooperative Society (KADCOS) Nsambya

Ugandans have been urged to embrace cooperatives to foster development right from their homes and throughout the whole country.

This call was made by Msgr. Lawrence Ssemusu as he represented the Archbishop of Kampala; His Grace Paul Ssemogerere ate the official opening of the second Kampala Archdiocesan Cooperative Exhibition taking place at the YES Centre Arena at Nsambya.

Msgr. Ssemusu says the cooperative spirit is not a new trend in the Catholic Church as this was initiated by the late Archbishop Joseph Kiwanuka in Masaka Diocese through an initiative he termed as “Bwaavu Mpologoma”.

Speaking at the exhibition’s opening ceremony, the Head of Laity in Kampala Archdiocese, Emily Kitto Mwaka called upon people to embrace the cooperative spirit and visit the exhibition to learn about the new projects they can take on to change their socio-economic lives.

Meanwhile, the Manager of the Kampala Development Cooperative Society (KADCOS) Nsambya, Joseph Kamoga, on behalf of this year’s organizers of the exhibition, revealed that so many new things have been brought on board hence asking people to spare time and visit the two-day exhibition which closes on Sunday October 20th 2024 so that they can pick a leaf from some of the development projects other people are undertaking to change their livelihood.
