A total of 73 suspects are under custody after being arrested over marijuana smoking in operations conducted by security agencies across the country.

According to the police, the operation was conducted under a joint operation in support of the army and the community leaders.

Of the total suspects, 43 male adults were arrested from Gogombe, Bonjo and Buga zone in Seeta, Kira division while 18 were picked from Kireku zone and 12 from Busia Municipality.

Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson says some of the suspects were found in possession of house breaking materials and other stolen exhibits.

Rusoke says the operation was conducted after receiving several complaints from the public about having sleepless nights in their villages by these marijuana smokers.
