Karamoja MPs Condemn Ssemakadde over Comments against DPP Abodo

Napak District Woman MP, Faith Nakut

The legal fraternity in Uganda has been challenged to clear their house following the alleged use of vulgar language by the President of the Uganda Law Society, Isaac Ssemakadde.

Condemning the recent utterances by Ssemakadde in which he attacked the person of Director of Public Prosecution Jane Frances Abodo, Members of Parliament hailing from Karamoja asked lawyers in Uganda to pass a vote of no confidence in their leader if he is not courteous enough to resign.

The group led by Napak District Woman MP, Faith Nakut have demanded a public apology from Ssemakadde, saying the vulgar insults not only targeted Abodo but the women of Uganda in general and the entire Karamoja community.

She stresses that the Uganda Law Society must prevail over Ssemakade because of his uncouth and unprofessional conduct.

John Baptist Lokii, the Matheniko MP says that Ssemakadde should not only make a public apology but also resign from the ULS Presidency because he is a disgrace to the lawyers’ fraternity and the people of Uganda.

Lokii has also threatened legal action against Ssemakadde in case he fails to resign.
