The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has praised Rev. Fr. Sylvester Kamoga for his determination to serve the Lord as a Priest for the last 50 years.
Archbishop Ssemogerere made this remark in his homily at the golden jubilee celebrations of Fr. Kamoga in a thanksgiving mass held at their ancestral home in Kasenge, Kyengera Parish.
Fr. Kamoga is currently serving as the Chaplain St. Francis Nsambya Training School.
The Archbishop said priesthood is a gift from God, to those chosen by God that must be cherished and jealously protected.
He described Fr. Kamoga as a principled man, who keeps his word and actions.
The celebrant, Fr. Kamoga said just like any other vocation, priesthood also involves challenges but to overcome them, one must understand their calling and serve well.
Meanwhile, Msgr. Dr. Lawrence Ssemusu, who has known the celebrant for many years, says he has learnt a lot from him especially on being thorough and very careful in whatever task he undertakes.
Rev. Fr. Sylvester Kamogawas ordained into priesthood on December 15th 1974 at Lubaga Cathedral by His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Nsubuga.
