Archbishop Ssemogerere Preaches Peace, Respect ahead of Electoral Season

Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere

The Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has tasked Ugandans to maintain peace and respect for human rights ahead of the electoral season of 2025/2026.

The Uganda Independent Electoral Commission has already announced the General Update of the National Voters’ Register, scheduled to take place from January 20th to February 10th 2025 with this critical exercise forming part of the roadmap to the 2026 General Elections to ensure that all eligible voters are prepared to participate in free and fair elections.

He said this during a thanksgiving Mass for the celebration of 75 years of existence of Uganda Clays Limited, at the same function where the building materials manufacturer handed over land to St. Barbara Sub-Parish which is under St. Joseph Lweza Parish to construct a modern Sub-Parish Church.

Archbishop Ssemogerere disclosed that peace and respect for human rights must be respected before, during and after elections to maintain stability in the country, adding that loving one another is everyone’s responsibility because it’s one of the 10 Commandments of God.

The Archbishop has meanwhile challenged workers of Uganda Clays Limited Kajjansi to respect their work and put God first in what they do to achieve success.
