PLU Supporters to Match to Parliament over Summoning of Gen. Muhoozi

MP Michael Mawanda (C) with other PLU Supporters at a function

The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has announced a peaceful match to parliament on February 10th 2025 to express their discontent with the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs towards their pursuit of the League’s Patron who is also the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

It should be remembered that the committee summoned Gen. Keneirugaba to explain his various posts on social media platform X (formerly twitter) but a delegation from the Defense Ministry instead showed up and interfaced with the committee, which the MPs declined and sent them away.

While addressing journalists at the PLU headquarters in Naguru, Kampala on Friday, Faridah Nakalawa, the PLU Coordinator disclosed that they have already informed the responsible authorities and their members about this peaceful match.

Nakawala says they want an explanation why the committee chased away the Ministry delegation or instead they have taken the matter personal which they will not accept, adding that they have organized a big number of supporters who will start matching from the PLU offices at Naguru to Parliament and they do not expect anyone who is not a supporter of MK to join them.

At the same presser meanwhile, PLU welcomed 100 people who are alleged to be supporters of the National Unity platform (NUP) who crossed over to PLU.

The PLU Director of Mobilization and Igara East MP, Michael Maranga Mawanda has tasked them to make PLU greater and an admirable political pressure group, ready to take on the political command of Uganda.
