FDC Fronts Singer Aganaga for the Kawempe North By-election

Singer Khalifah Aganaga (L) handed the party symbol by FDC President Amuriat

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has endorsed renowned musician Sadat Mukiibi commonly known as Khalifah Aganaga as the party’s flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election.

While nominating Mukiibi and presenting to him party symbols, the party’s Electoral Commission Chairperson Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda explained that their candidate has the necessary qualities for a legislator. He later handed him the party flag, constitution and strategic plan.

The FDC President Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat called upon party members in Kawempe North to start ground work to see that the party wins this by-election.

He also sent a strong message to those thinking that Kawempe North is ring-fenced for a particular party, that this is an elective area that is open for all competitors from all political parties to take it up for the better representation of the residents.

He thus warned the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party to desist from creating violence in Kawempe North.

Amuriat also congratulated Mukiibi a.k.a Aganaga for choosing the FDC, a party of strength, focused and transparent to its members and new ideas.

In his speech, Mukiibi appealed to the residents of Kawempe North to vote for him since he is a resident of Kazo-Angola and he is ready to serve them diligently.

Meanwhile, the FDC party has also endorsed Sharif Ssebunya as their candidate for the Kazo-Angola LC3 Councillor’s seat who will also be elected on the same day.

The Kawempe North parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Muhammad Ssegirinya on January 9th 2025.
