The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Brigade has attributed the delayed completion of several Government health projects due to insufficient funding.
Brig. Gen. Cyrus Besigye, the Commander of the UPDF Engineering Brigade revealed that the completion of the ongoing 134 projects under the Ministry of Health requires nearly 90 billion shillings.
These projects include the construction and rehabilitation of health staff quarters, hospitals, and other key facilities across the country.
He noted that for the current financial year 2024/25, only 5 billion Shillings has been allocated out of the 12 billion Shillings required to support 15 of these projects.
