The Democratic Party (DP) has endorsed Henry Kasakya as their flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election, scheduled for March 13th, 2025.

Kasakya, a member of the Buganda Lukiiko and Programs Manager at the Inter-Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD), has been introduced by DP Electoral Commission Chairperson Kennedy Mutenyo.

At the function held at their headquarters along Balintuma Road in Mengo, Rubaga Division, Kampala, the DP Party President Norbert Mao described the Kawempe North by-election as a golden opportunity for the DP to shine again and it is the reason they have presented a brain soldier rather than a foot soldier for the race.

Mao also advised the electorate in Kawempe North to vote for people who are going to cause a positive impact in the area other than self seekers.

Meanwhile, Kasakya hailed the DP for giving him a chance and pledged to fight for democracy and rule of law if elected into the 11th Parliament.
