The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Norbert Mao, has informed the Parliamentary Legal Committee that the Ministry is awaiting executive guidance on operationalizing the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC). 

Despite being prepared to move forward with constitutional amendments, the Ministry is still pending approval from the executive branch.

The Ministry had initially been allocated nearly 300 billion shillings for the CRC’s work, but the funds were later redirected to the consolidated fund. 

Minister Mao suggested transferring CRC duties to the Uganda Law Reform Commission to streamline the process and save costs.
