The opposition political party, National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) has urged Ugandans to make informed decisions in the upcoming 2026 general elections by rejecting greedy leaders.
This call follows reports that legislators allegedly received 100 million shillings each, regardless of party affiliation, for their support of the Coffee Bill and a potential amendment to the UPDF Act that would allow civilians to be tried in the court martial.
The Spokesperson for NEED, Moses Matovu, emphasized that voters should consider several key factors when evaluating candidates, including their track records, policy proposals, values, and integrity.
Matovu stated that by rejecting greedy and selfish leaders, Ugandans can shape their country’s future and promote positive change.
He also encouraged citizens to actively engage in the electoral process by attending candidate forums, participating in community discussions, and utilizing social media to hold leaders accountable, ensuring their voices are heard in the political arena.
