Dr. Joyce Tamale, co-founder of Capital Solutions, highlighted the significant role of the Catholic Church in influencing mindsets within both public and private sectors.
During the 15th National Caritas Week Celebration in the Kabale Diocese, she underscored the unique potential of church leaders to promote entrepreneurial thinking and guide their congregations toward sustainable business practices.
Dr. Tamale pointed out some common pitfalls that often lead to business failures, including the popular misconception that entrepreneurship is easy, the lack of thorough market research, and inadequate funding.
She emphasized that overcoming these challenges requires a strong work ethic and a commitment to systematically exploring innovative ideas.
To further this aim, Dr. Tamale proposed the establishment of micro-affordable impact funds designed to nurture promising entrepreneurial ventures.
She urged Caritas Uganda to transition away from a reliance on grants and instead focuses on developing sustainable social enterprises that marry profit with social impact.
Through these initiatives, Dr. Tamale believes that church leaders can effectively inspire their congregations, fostering a more positive perspective on entrepreneurship and encouraging community members to pursue viable business opportunities that contribute to both personal and societal growth.
