Ugandan striker Steven Dese Mukwala has been awarded the NBC Tanzania Premier League Player of the Month for March.

Mukwala demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the month, netting four goals and providing one assist in just two league matches.

His impressive run included a hat trick during a commanding 3-0 victory over Coastal Union, followed by another goal and an assist in a resounding 6-1 win against Dodoma Jiji.

This stellar performance not only secured him the player accolade but also highlighted his crucial role in Simba SC’s recent successes.

In addition to Mukwala’s individual recognition, his coach, Fadlu Davids, was also named Coach of the Month, further emphasizing the team’s strong showing in the league.

Mukwala’s achievements come just days after he played a pivotal role in Simba SC’s progression to the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

He scored the second goal in the second leg against Al Masry and successfully converted a penalty in the ensuing shootout, helping secure his team’s advancement.

With nine league goals so far this season, Mukwala is currently three goals shy of the joint-leading scorers, Prince Dube of Yanga and Simba’s Jean Ahoua.

His consistent performances continue to make him a key player to watch in the league as the season progresses.
