The Democratic Party (DP) has called on the Ugandan public to pay close attention to the content of the Pastoral Letter released by the Catholic Bishops of Uganda on April 7, 2025.
This letter outlines 14 critical issues that the bishops believe, if addressed by all stakeholders, could lead to a more peaceful and prosperous Uganda.
At the release event held at the Uganda Catholic Secretariat in Nsambya, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Antony Zziwa, Chairman of the Uganda Episcopal Conference, emphasized the importance of these issues for national harmony and growth.
During a media briefing at DP party offices in Kampala, Okoler Opio, the party spokesperson, urged Ugandans especially leaders to take responsibility for past wrongdoings and strive for goodness, reconciliation, and mutual support as a foundation for national development.
Opio further urged opposition leaders to unite in their efforts to challenge the current leadership of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government, stressing that such unity is essential to effectively addressing the escalating societal challenges facing the nation.
