The State Minister for Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi, highlighted the vital role that church organizations like Caritas play in uplifting the underprivileged.
In a recent address as the Guest of Honor at the closing ceremony of the 15th National Caritas Week 2025 in Kabale Diocese, the Minister called for collaboration between Caritas and various government ministries, including Agriculture and Gender, through public-private partnerships (PPPs) to effectively tackle poverty and enhance the quality of life for communities.
Musasizi encouraged Caritas to actively engage in upcoming funding proposals, reaffirming the government’s commitment to support these initiatives and work collaboratively to bridge gaps within communities.
In a noteworthy development, he announced that the budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026 will include finalized remuneration plans for St. Teresa Girls’ School Rushoroza, demonstrating the government’s commitment to education and community support.
In addition, Dr. Nicholas Kamara, the Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament, urged Ugandans to shift their mindset away from solely relying on foreign donors.
He encouraged citizens to begin investing in local institutions, such as Caritas, that focus on alleviating poverty and advocating for grassroots development.
Together, these leaders emphasized a collaborative approach to improving socio-economic conditions in Uganda, with a strong focus on local initiatives and community engagement.
